Training & Relaxing
What got you into training and competitions?
I first started training when I was 15 to loose some puppy fat and also started working at the gym, in 2001 I went to my first local bodybuilding show I loved the atmosphere of the show and decided that the next year I wanted to compete. So I set my goal and started to weight train and grow some muscles!
What are your goals in bodybuilding now and have they changed since you started competing?
I'm a strong believer in small achievable goals rather than setting goals that seem a million miles away so my first ever goal was just to get in shape and be able to stand on stage. After this one it was to qualify for the Nabba Britain, then to place as only the top six in the class are placed. I reached this goal quite quickly my second year. I then set my goal to win my class. The year after I went back hoping to better my place however I didn’t managed to place in 2004. This only made me more determined and the year after I returned and placed 2nd. I finally returned in 2006 and won my class, with 4 years hard work paying off I decided to take a little rest. With that goal achieved I had set a new one. This time both help people from the gym prepare for shows which is very rewarding seeing them on stage after seeing them change though their diets. I normally get very emotional when there on stage. This year I have been asked to help another figure girl get ready to compete which I am over the moon she has asked me to help her , she is a good friend cant wait to see her back up on stage.
Obviously your work and training take up a lot of your time, but what other interested do you have out of the gym?
I’m a real girls girl, I love my shopping and fashion, I also love to bake and cook.
I also make my own bikinis which is great while I’m dieting as it takes my mind off food
How do you relax?
I try to use my weekends as relaxing time , me and Shane go out most Saturday nights for a meal or with friends, its my time to forget about the week and have some fun. Sundays are normally spent doing everyday things shopping and vegging out in front of the TV.
Who do you rely on for support and help when your dieting?
My friends and family. You realise just how much you need them when you diet, in all aspects from telling you the truth about how you look to picking up food from the shops when you run out it all counts. Shane is really the one I look to for guidance when I diet him and another close friend are the only people I ask to look at me when I diet because I know they will be honest but also give me ways to improve.
I cant name everyone but I just want to mention the support I had at the universe show this year I could not believe how many people were cheering me on I heard everyone of you so thank you.

I've been using this training plan since the universe show, as I feel these are the areas I need to improve on. Ive included some light cardio work just for the fitness aspect (and I enjoy it).
Diet (off season)
Breakfast; yoghurt, fruit, cereal
Snack; Extreme Protein shake
Lunch; chicken, tuna or turkey mince with rice, pasta of potato and veg or salad
After training; Extreme Build and Recover
Dinner; chicken, tuna or turkey mince with rice, pasta of potato and veg or salad

My off season diet is very relaxed I'm not trying to put any muscle on now just refine what I have so getting a lot of protein isn't an issue for me. I also like my treats so the odd piece of carrot cake will appear a couple of times a week! And a couple of times a week I'll eat out. I love my food and don't like to restrict myself too much when I aren't dieting.
